What you’ll get working with JM Building Contractors
- Employed role with guaranteed 40 hours per week (8am–4.30pm) – no worrying about dry spells

About the role – Painter / Decorator
You’ll be responsible for internal and external decorating across a wide range of projects. This could include:
- Surface preparation (e.g. filling, sanding, undercoating)
- Painting walls, ceilings, woodwork, and metalwork
- Wallpapering and feature walls
- Spraying (e.g. mist coats, finishes on ceilings, woodwork, or walls)
- External painting and finishing
- Working on residential, commercial, and insurance-related jobs
- Keeping work areas clean, tidy, and safe
We’re looking for someone who’s reliable, detail-focused, and takes pride in a quality finish. A good eye for detail, clean working, and a positive attitude matter more than qualifications.
You’ll be a great fit if you…
- Are experienced in painting, decorating, and surface prep (2 years minimum)
- Take pride in clean lines and a high-standard finish
- Are tidy, well-organised, and respectful of people’s homes
- Can work independently and manage your own time
- Are a team player and willing to muck in on site when needed
- Want a stable income and a good team to be part of
- Assist in other trades if painting isn’t ready (multi-trade)
What we’re looking for
- At least 2 years’ experience in painting and decorating
- NVQ or City & Guilds (preferred but not essential)
- A full UK driving licence
- Eligibility to work in the UK
